About Me

I am passionate about human centric design and the psychology behind user thinking.

My story

Hi, I’m Christie. I’m a product designer based in Toronto, ON. My journey to product design was non-traditional. I studied Fine Arts in university as a painter and a printmaker. Through my love of screen printing, I began creating my art through digital graphics. It propelled me to the direction of graphic design once I graduated. Through my years of being a graphic designer, I eventually found my love for website designing and UI/UX which led me to product design.

My diverse experience taught me to be thoughtful, precise and adaptable. There has been lots of ups and downs in my career but it has never impacted my work performance yet it has taught me to be more adaptable and purposeful with my work.

I am passionate about human centric design and the psychology behind user thinking. My creative space is where design meets functionality. I use methodical and analytical process when solving problems.

Because of my diversity in experience, I can bring in different expertise.

My Philosophy

You miss 100% of the shot you don’t take.

As a creative who has jumped around different roles, I always challenge myself to take the leap and believe in myself. As a designer, I strive to continuously challenge myself with different techniques to build the best experience.

Think outside of the box.

Prior to transitioning as a product designer, I was web/graphic designer at a marketing agency. My interest in user experience led me from creating websites to fully transitioning as a product designer. I did not let my title define my role and explored other interests of mine.
